In Creation

 • Pete Elliott • Series: Hearing God: A Lenten Sermon Series

During this Lenten season we have engaged in preparation of our hearts and spirits by considering some of the many ways that we hear God speaking into our lives. The person of Jesus, the written word in Scripture, the voices of current and ancient Prophets, and the deep peaceful quiet of silent contemplation all offer us opportunity to hear what God is speaking into our lives. If we would but listen. Matthew tells his disciples a parable about seeds growing in various kinds of soil and says “Let anyone with ears listen.” The Psalmist says “The heavens are telling the glory of God.” From the smallest seeds to the grandeur of the heavens, the reality of who God is and what God is doing is evident for us to see and hear. If we would but listen. This week we’ll take time to consider what creation – the whole of creation – offers us so that we might hear the good news of God’s love for us and for all of creation. Would you come and listen with me?
