Some things are hard to describe, even when we know exactly what they are or what they do—like love, hurt, or hope. Light is the same way. We know it when we see it, and we know what it does: light pushes darkness away. In the same way, God’s presence dispels the darkness in our lives, bringing clarity and hope. No matter how deep our shadows, even a small light makes all the difference. God’s promise to us is simple and powerful: there’s no darkness so overwhelming that God’s light can’t break through. God's light will always push back the darkness we face. Even when we can’t quite explain it. This Sunday let’s celebrate the power God’s light has to dispel darkness.
