Run Your Race
• Katy Wheat Borhauer • Series: It is *Well: A Series on Mental and Emotional Wellbeing
This Sunday, we move into Week 3 of our sermon series It Is Well*, and we’re reflecting on what it means to live with perseverance and endurance—especially when the journey is long. Life with mental or emotional wounds is not a sprint. It’s a marathon of faith. Some seasons we flourish; other seasons we simply keep going. Through it all, we are not defined by our struggles, but held by God’s sustaining grace. Hebrews 12 encourages us to “run with perseverance the race set before us,” with our eyes fixed on Jesus. And Psalm 92 reminds us that celebration and lament often coexist—we can lift our voices in joy while being honest about our pain. As a reminder, our Resource Guide is available both digitally and in print at the church. This guide offers a starting point for anyone walking through a difficult season or supporting someone who is. It’s not exhaustive, but it’s full of helpful places to begin. If this series is bringing things to the surface for you, please know: you are not alone, and you are deeply loved. We encourage you to use or share this resource as needed.
