Hold on to Hope
• Katy Wheat Borhauer • Series: It is *Well: A Series on Mental and Emotional Wellbeing
This Sunday marks the conclusion of what has been an impactful sermon series for many: It Is Well. Throughout this series, the focus has been on mental and emotional wellbeing—what it is, how it shapes lives and relationships, and how God is present in the midst of it all. The congregation has been invited to be honest about their struggles and to surrender shame to the God who cares deeply for the whole self—body, mind, and spirit. Through it all, the series has celebrated this truth: on the lifelong journey toward mental wellbeing, no one walks alone. The final message turns toward hope. Hope is not wishful thinking—it is a foundation built on the steady faithfulness of God. Even amid suffering, God is present, and God’s mercies are new every morning. True hope does not ignore pain but meets it head-on, trusting that grief, struggle, and hope can coexist in the presence of God and sustain us through even the darkest seasons. To help the community reflect more deeply, all worship services will include a meaningful conversation with two mental healthcare professionals: Rev. Dr. Henry Stringer, Ph.D., and Rachel Fox, LPCC-S.
